Richard Perrella

Richard “Dickie” Perrella, 72, of Lehigh Acres died April 17, 2011 under the care of Hope Hospice Lehigh Acres.

Born and raised in Fort Myers, he graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1957. Before retiring, he worked as a survey party chief for local engineering companies. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and even telling jokes both good and bad, his family said.

Perrella is survived by his wife and best friend Judy, his mother Gladys; two daughters, Melissa and Desiree; four stepsons, Steve, Tom, Nick and Matt, two very special nieces and several cousins. “Papa Dickie” will be missed by his grandchildren, Bryant, Dakota, Devin and Alanna.

He was predeceased by his father, Louis and brother, John.

Private services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hope Hospice, Wings Way, Lehigh Acres, 33936.
