Fraudulent credit card, fake driver’s license found inside woman’s vagina
A fraudulent credit card spending spree at several area Home Depot Stores came to an abrupt end for a Pompano Beach woman, after she was arrested and charged with having a fraudulent credit card and fake Florida driver’s license concealed inside her vagina, Lee County Sheriff’s officials said today.
On April 29, at approximately 7 p.m., members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Highway Interdiction Unit said they pulled over a vehicle traveling on I-75. Upon making contact with the driver, the detective immediately noticed the vehicle was full of high-end power tool equipment, some of which still had security tags attached.
Other indicators of criminal activity were observed, including prior felony criminal history of both of the vehicle’s occupants. It quickly became apparent that the items inside the van were either recently stolen or purchased using fraudulent credit cards. As the investigation unfolded, detective determined the items were recently purchased at a Cape Coral Home Depot using a fraudulent credit card account.
Home Depot was contacted and Citibank confirmed the fraudulent transactions totaling more than $5,000. Nearly half of the fraudulent items purchased were recovered during the traffic stop, investigators said.
After a female deputy was called to the scene, Ann Marie Hernandez, 46, of 2850 NE 9th Ave., Pompano Beach, admitted to concealing a fraudulent credit card and fraudulent Florida driver’s license inside her vagina, investigators said.
Hernandez was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail. She has been charged with one count of possession of a fraudulent driver’s license and one count of misrepresenting a credit card.
