At 1:30 a.m. Monday, Cape police responded to a report of a stabbing at 2218 N.E. Sixth St. The victim, 24, stated that his mother had been involved in an argument with his girlfriend earlier in the evening. The argument was a result of his girlfriend contacting her ex-boyfriend, Fellows, via computer.

As the men got to the street, Fellows pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach, then slashed him across the shoulder and behind the head, according to police. Fellows then got into his car and fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, treated and released.
On Tuesday, Cape police located Fellows at a Fort Myers home in the 2300 block of Katherine Street and took him into custody. According to police, Fellows admitted to stabbing the victim after the man took a swing at him.
He also stated that he stabbed the victim two more times to “make sure that he didn’t get back up,” officials reported.
Fellows has a court date June 6.
