Investigators probe shooting death in Lehigh
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call concerning a shooting in Lehigh Acres on Saturday night at around 10:20 p.m. and responded to 2304 Leda Avenue South, in Lehigh, where they found a black female laying on the floor of the garage, suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, identified as Jackie Denice Dillard, 42, lived at the house. She was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries, according to John Sheehan, a public information officer with the Sheriff’s Office.
He said a crime scene was established and homicide detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit began an investigation. He said here no further information available.
