Gasoline drops more than a cent a gallon

Average retail gasoline prices in the Greater Fort Myers Area, including Lehigh and Cape Coral have fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.87/g Sunday.

This compares with the national average that has increased 0.3 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.93/g, according to gasoline price website CapeCoralGasPrices.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Lee County during the past week, prices Sunday were $1.01/g higher than the same day one year ago and are 3.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.

The national average has increased 12.9 cents per gallon during the last month and stands $1.05/g higher than this day one year ago.
