An Estero movie theater closed Wednesday after tile fell from the inside ceiling and landed on moviegoers.

All movie patrons at the Coconut Point Hollywood Theaters 16 were escorted out of the building after 5 p.m. to ensure their own safety, NBC-2 reported.

A fire marshal stated that similar tile failures had occurred at the theater a week ago, NBC-2 reported. Minor injuries were reported.

Signs on the front doors stated that the Coconut Point theater would remain closed “until further notice.”
