Donnita Wadsworth

Donnita Wadsworth, 66, of Lehigh Acres, died May 20, 2011. She was born in Laredo, Texas, to the late Donald and Juanita Coburn. She was educated in Columbus, Ohio, and moved with her family to Fort Myers in 1963.

She was known as “Donni” to her friends and had worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, a real “soccer mom” and homework tutor. Her greatest joys were derived from the happiness and accomplishments of her children, her family said. She is remembered for her loving spirit and her caring nature. Her smile lit up a room, they said.

Wadswoth is survived by her husband of 40 years, George Wadsworth; her daughters, Nicole Wadsworth of Athens, Ohio, and Lauren Wadsworth of Fort Myers; her sisters, Micki Munro (Bill) and Beth Drouin (Michael McNally) of Fort Myers, granddaughters, Madie and Maya Roth-Wadsworth, niece and nephews, aunts, cousins, and “adopted” children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held by the family.

They said they would like to thank all the “angels” who took care of her at Manor Care and at Hope Hospice.

“We extend our thanks, also, to Kayla Bowling, one of Donni’s “adopted granddaughters” for her help, care, and compassion,” the family said.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908. Friends may sign the guestbook at www.horizonfunerals.com‘>www.horizonfunerals.com.
