Four air-conditioning units damaged at Cape church

Four air-conditioning units worth an estimated $32,000 were reported damaged at Cape Coral church. Copper parts were removed from the units.
On Monday, police responded to a report of a theft at First Assembly West Church, at 133 N.E. Pine Island Road. A member of the church staff reported that four of the six units located outside of the church had been damaged.
Two air conditioners were located on the north side of the church, along with two out of the three units located in the east side of the building. The units’ shells had been pried apart, and the copper inside had been cut and removed.
Each of the units, three Lennons and one Rheem, is valued at about $8,000.
Approximately $200 worth of copper was taken, according to a police report.
