Try voting at home by mail in next election
What could be better than casting your ballot for the next President of the United States while enjoying that morning cup of coffee? You can skip that trip to polls on election day and fill out your ballot in the privacy of your own home, thanks to an alternative provided by the United States Postal Service and your local elections office.
Lee County residents can call the elections office at 239-533-8683 to request a ballot by mail through October 29. The ballot will arrive in your mail box and you can return your ballot by mail as long as it is received by the elections office no later than 7 p.m. on the day of the election.
Voting by mail in the privacy of your home enables you to take your time researching and considering your decisions. There are several amendments proposed on this year’s ballot and voting by mail allows you to leisurely consider the choices with no extra pressure to hurry and move the line along.
The State of Florida, along with 28 other states in the nation, permits all qualified registered voters to Vote Absentee By Mail. This means you don’t have to offer an excuse to vote by mail – you are already approved. There is no confusion about where to go or waiting in line for hours to vote.
