Five-day fishing camp set at Rutenberg Park
Members of the Lee County Parks & Recreation Commission invite you to check out their newest addition to their water based summer camps.
Starting each day at – Rutenberg Community Park, there is a Junior Angler Fishing Camp.
There will be five days of hands-on, action packed fun at some of Lee County’s best waterway environments lead by the staff from the Florida Sea Grant. The camp will be a mix of classroom and field activities designed to teach you about saltwater and freshwater fishing at various fishing location.
Become a skilled angler by learning about fishing gear assembly, fishing rules and regulations, knot tying, choosing the right bait, fish identification, and sustainable fishing techniques.
Fishing poles, tackle, snack, sunscreen, and bottled water will be provided. Bring a hat and wear closed toed shoes you won’t mind getting wet.
Junior Angler Fishing Camp is open to children ages 10-15. Dates for the camp are June 20 through 24 (Monday through Friday).
Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon, traveling from and returning to Rutenberg Community Park in South Fort Myers daily
Children must be registered prior to June 17. Cost is $100 for the five-day session, and all equipment is provided.
