Chicken dinner, dance planned June 11
The Elks Lodge at 1050 Joel Blvd. in Lehigh Acres will hold a Flag Day Dinner and Dance on June 11 at the post. Cocktails are at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The menu consists of chicken and the sides.
Music will be provided by Jerry Dyce Price. The admittance price is $16 per person in advance or $18 at the door. For reservations, call Barbara Cuido at 770-2497.
Summer camp offered in Alva
A traditional summer camp is being offered at the Alva Community Center in Alva.
Don’t be left without a spot in camp. Summer is fast approaching and camps fill early. The Traditional Summer Camp at Alva is open to children ages 6 to 13 years old. This camp is pack of full day of indoor and outdoor activities including: arts and crafts, games, swimming, fishing, kayaking, nutrition, environment, fitness, limited field trips and much more.
Safety is the No. 1 concern, so staff to camper ratio is 1:15 or less.

VFW holds hot turkey dinner on June 18
The VFW Post 4174 will hold an open faced hot turkey sandwich dinner followed by the musical group “Magic Moments” on Saturday June 18. Dinner will be at 4:30 p.m. and entertainment at 6:30 p.m. The public is Invited. Alcoholic beverages will be served to members and guests only, said VFW Commander Les Waide.
Sleep Associates group holding Kid’s Fishing Tourney
Florida Lung & Sleep Associates in Lehigh Acres is holding a Kid’s Fishing tournament at Mirror Lakes on Saturday, June 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
There is a $25 donation per person with children 12 and younger free. A lunch is included.

Take a walk on the wild side. Designed for the active outdoor teen. Participants will enjoy hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, outdoor games, environmental activities and more at the 768-acre Caloosahatchee Regional Park at Alva. Bring closed toed shoes, a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, healthy snacks and lunch and a complete change of clothes and shoes every day.
Campers will also need bring their own mountain bike and helmet to participate in mountain biking. No electronics allowed. This program is held at the Caloosahatchee lodge. Parents should use the campground parking lot for drop off and pick up.
