By Staff | Jun 6, 2011

Served Dinner: Of the many projects, involving the members of the General Women’s Club, is saving “tabs” from soda cans. Also, they prepare dinner for the residents who are at the home away from home who have seriously ill children being cared for in the Children’s Hospital at HealthPark South. Shown here are left, Linda Antkiewic, at right, Bobbie Slanker preparing dinner for residents at Ronald McDonald House. The pull tabs are pure aluminum which are sold to dealers. All monies received from the pull tab collection are put directly put back into the operations of the local McDonald house. With one pop tab measuring one inch, 63,360 pop tabs will equal one mile, said Slanker. Photo provided
