Wallace hired as new Cape High hoops coach

Officials at Cape Coral High School have announced that Darrin Wallace has been hired as the new head basketball coach for the Seahawks.

Wallace is returning to familiar ground, having graduated from Cape High in 1998. He also served as an assistant coach for the Seahawks after going on to play basketball in college, finishing his playing career at and graduating from FGCU.

Wallace was most recently an assistant coach for the FGCU men’s basketball team. Prior to that, from 2007-2010, he was the head basketball coach at Gateway Charter High School.

According to an announcement about the hiring from Ashley Thompson, Cape High’s Athletic / Activities Director, “We are excited to have a former Seahawk return as a coach and look forward to great things from Coach Wallace.”
