The Estero Chamber of Commerce this week named Sheriff Mike Scott its “Political Person of the Year.” Sheriff Scott received the honor in front of about 300 people during the Estero Chamber’s annual awards luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort.

Scott joined Lee Memorial Hospital CEO Jim Nathan as the two Lee County residents to be honored this year.

In presenting the award to Sheriff Scott, Chamber President John Garvalia noted, “We appreciate his tremendous contributions and commitment to the people of Lee County.”

In a brief acceptance speech, Sheriff Scott acknowledged the men and women of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. “They deserve all the credit for this prestigious award,” said Sheriff Scott. “We remain focused and proud to serve.”
