Help blood shortage by donating in Lehigh on June 21

By Staff | Jun 19, 2011

In order to combat summer blood shortages in our community, law enforcement and firefighters have joined forces to encourage the public to donate blood throughout the month of June.

“We estimate that 6,000 units of blood will be consumed in our community this summer alone. All blood collected benefits the patients of the Lee Memorial Health System,” said spokesman Pat Dolce.

Those who donate at one of the locations will receive a special Guns n’ Hoses T-shirt and a coupon for a free six-inch sub, courtesy of Subway.

In Lehigh Acres, you may donate blood at the Lehigh Acres Fire Dept. at 11 Homestead Rd. from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21.

If you want other locations in the county, or have any questions about donating, call 239-343-2333.
