Freedom Fest, fireworks planned in Fort Myers

Freedom Fest Fourth of July will be held in downtown Fort Myers in the River District.

The Block Party will be held from 2 p.m. until midnight. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. The event is free for all ages.

The following is the Event Schedule for the Fourth of July event:

1- 3 p.m.

Vault Key Giveaway, last Chance to get a Key to The Vault Giveaway, hosted by

Mix104, Naples Talk, Bob FM, Gator Country, corner of First and Hendry St.

2 p.m.

Block Party Begins

Block Party Presented by Your Local Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and RAM dealers.

DJ Tommy Tunes kicks off the celebration.

2 p.m.

Children’s Amusement Areas open at First and Jackson and Hendry and Main streets.

2 p.m.

Wristband sales begin

Preferred Viewing and Discount Wristband Sales. Buy your wristbands at the American Legion Tables at various locations and get discounts at businesses listed in the brochure.

3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

The Vault Registration at Hendry and Bay St.

5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

The Vault Opening at Hendry and Bay St.

6 p.m.

High Tide band performs at First and Jackson St.

7 p.m.

Fakahatchee performs Hendry and Main St. Deb and The Dynamics perform First and Monroe St. No Way Jose performs Broadway & Main St.

7:30 p.m.

Strange Arrangement performs Hendry and Bay Street.

8 p.m.

Preferred Viewing Area Opens – $5 per person, ages 5 and under free, on Bay St.

9:30 p.m.

Fireworks begin and are presented by Chico’s FAS Inc.

10 p.m. to midnight, Block Party continues.

No coolers, chairs or fireworks are allowed inside the event grounds.
