Debbie Belknap

Debbie Belknap, 52, of Lehigh Acres, died on July 2, 2011. Originally from Leivasy, W.V., she was the youngest of five children, born to Mabel and Roy Belknap.

She was a school teacher for 30 years; and for 25 of those 30 years, she spent teaching second grade at Highlands Elementary School in Immokalee.

Her family said she was a warm, caring, Christian woman with a wonderful sense of humor. Her greatest joy was helping people and spending time with those most precious to her.

Those friends and family include Jose Gonzalez; her only child and daughter Jessica Smith as well as several immediate and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. July 28, 2011 at First Baptist Church, 1411 Lake Trafford Rd., Immokalee, FL 34142.
