PAL hosting local PP&K in Fort Myers
The Fort Myers Police Athletic League is hosting an NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition this coming weekend at Billy Bowlegs Park.
The free competition is open to boys & girls ages 6-15 and begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The park is located at 851 Marsh Avenue.
The NFL developed the program to teach the fundamentals of punting, passing and kicking a football, as well as the teamwork needed to successfully play sports. Regardless of a player’s ability the goal is to promote fun and appreciation of the game while teaching and developing important skills.
All participants begin at a local level with the opportunity to advance to sectionals and then ultimately national finals.
Fort Myers PAL serves more than 400 youth each year by providing athletic, educational and social programs for area children. The program supplies equipment, uniforms and transportation to participants at little or no cost.
Coaches and volunteers are from the Fort Myers Police Department and the local community.
