Legion Auxiliary plans dinner on Aug. 5
The Auxiliary Unit 323 of the Lehigh Acres American Legion will have dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 5, serving stuffed pork chops with mash potatoes and gravy and a vegetable the cost is $7 per person. Also the Auxiliary will have breakfast on Sunday August 14 from 8 a.m. to noon with two eggs cooked to order, bacon or sausage, potatoes and toast for $4, two pancakes $1, and biscuits and sausage gravy, $3. The Post is on Ashlar Ave.
Antique roadshow to be in Lehigh
The Ohio Valley Refinery & Roadshow will be in Lehigh Acres from Aug. 2 – 6 at the Microtel Inn on Business Way. Brittany Thomas, who heads media relations for the Ohio Valley Refinery & Roadshow said residents are invited to get a hands on view of rare antiques and collectibles.
Literacy Office phone number changes
Literacy Volunteers of Lee County (LVLC) announces that the telephone number for the Lehigh Acres office has changed to 239-415-3621.
The Lehigh Acres adult/family literacy program is located at the Lehigh Acres United Way House, 201 Plaza Drive, Suite 3, Lehigh Acres, 33936. The office is staffed from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. 5 p.m. on Thursdays.
Literacy Volunteers is seeking volunteers to help staff the office during the afternoons, 1 p.m. 5 p.m. For more information, contact LVLC at 239-415-3621, said Tess Murphy executive director.
Ongoing events at the American Legion
The American Legion Auxiliary 323 will host a dinner August 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Post on Ashlar Ave. The menu is stuffed pork chops, mashed potatoes, gravy for $7. All proceeds will go to Auxiliary programs.
Junior Auxiliary members will also have a bake sale. The junior members use this money to help defray the cost of going to Junior Convention and giving the donations they give as the Juniors. After dinner, you are invited to stay and enjoy karaoke with Ronnie D. and Tammy starting at 7:30 p.m.
On August 18 the American Legion Post 323 Executive Boards will have a joint meeting. All Executive Board members of the Legion, Auxiliary, Squadron, Riders should plan to attend to give your ideas on future events. The Executive Board members represent the members.
If you have an idea, bring it to your officers and ask them to bring it to the meeting. Changes have been made in the appearance of the Post and if you have not been in the Post in sometime, come in and see the positive changes. There are still move changes being made.
