Nola C. Barron

Nola Catherine Barron, of Lehigh Acres and formerly of Evansville, Ind., died on August 7, 2011. She was a 38-year member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Lehigh and a 33-year member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Evansville, Ind. She was a past president of the Council of Catholic Women and past president of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was very active in many humanitarian and civic organizations.

She was a devoted Catholic, avid quilter, bingo player, crafter, tennis player and connoisseur of weeds. Her family said she has left a heritage of inner strength, determination, wisdom and faith and is greatly loved and missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Carl Edmund Barron, and daughter, Nola Hille and son, Daniel Scott Barron.

She is survived by daughters Patricia Hearn of Apopka, Fla., Mary Barron and Carole Morris of Evansville, Ind., Catherine (Dave) Anderson of Missouri, and Elizabeth (Robert) Handley of Lehigh Acres; her sons Carl (Sandy) Barron of Clearwater, Fla., and Paul Barron of Orlando, Fla., Wayne (Margaret) Barron and Robert (Kari) Barron, son-in-law, Charles “Toby” Hille, all of Evansville, Ind., 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their deep felt gratitude to Lehigh Acres Health & Rehabilitation Center as well as Lehigh Hope Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to a favorite charity.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Anderson-Patterson Cremation & Funeral Services, 2701 Lee Boulevard, Lehigh Acres, (239) 368-7080.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at St. Raphael Church. Internment will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Evansville, Ind.
