Two men shot early Sunday in Fort Myers parking lot

By Staff | Aug 14, 2011

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a gunshot victim at Lee Memorial Hospital Sunday morning at around 3:41 a.m. Deputies arrived on scene and were told a second gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital.

A preliminary investigation revealed both victims had been brought to the hospital following an incident at the Reserve Cigar Bar, 10950 South Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers.

According to Sgt. Stephanie Eller, witnesses said that as they were leaving the bar, they heard a commotion in the parking lot, then multiple gunshots. Both victims were shot during this time.

Eller said it appears they were caught in some crossfire. Deputies responded to the parking lot of the Reserve Cigar Bar and located multiple spent shell casings on the ground.

A male juvenile victim was admitted for non-life threatening gunshot wounds and a male adult victim was treated and released. Their names were not released.

Eller said the suspect is described as a male wearing all black. His face was covered with a bandana and that this appears to be an isolated incident.
