A new group calling itself Save Our Backyard chickens is inviting the public to a Meet ‘n’ Greet on Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the East County Regional Library at 881 Gunnery Rd. in Lehigh Acres.

Sponsors of the program say the purpose of this meeting is to give the latest information on a petition to allow chickens in Lehigh and to meet fellow “chicken folks.”

If you want to bring photographs of your favorite “clucker,” then do so, but they ask that no chickens be brought to the library, according to a flyer posted around town.
