A woman has died after the motorcycle she was on was struck by a car. The accident occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday night on U.S. 41 near the entrance to Coconut Point Mall. The victim was a passenger on the motorcycle and was trauma alerted, but died as a result of her injuries. The male driver of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim has been identified as Janine Becker, 57, of 4750 Jackfish Street, Bonita Springs. The driver of the motorcycle, Doug McGill, 40, of 17496 Homewood Road, Fort Myers, was treated and released from the hospital. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the accident.
