Practice your English with English Cafe, a free, conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers. Participants may start at any time. Advanced registration is not necessary.
Chess Anyone?
4 p.m. Mondays, September 12, 19, 26
Rise to the chess challenge and join the fun. Chess enthusiasts of all ages are welcome! Bring your own chess set or use one of ours. Sponsored by the Friends of the East County Regional Library.
Poetry Room

Poetry Lovers Unite! Join other like-minded people to talk about poetry and share what it means to you. Bring your favorite poem and listen to the poetry of others in a friendly, receptive environment. Registration is required.

Toddler Storytime
10 a.m. Thursdays, September 1, 8, 15, 22
10 a.m. Wednesdays, September 7, 14, 21, 28
Children 2 years old and their caregivers participate in song, finger plays and short stories. The success of this age group depends on adult participation and encouragement. Toddler storytime lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Baby-Parent Rhyme Time
10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 3
Be prepared to tickle, jump and fly with your baby. These rhymes and songs are for infants, up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. This 20-minute program is filled with songs designed to introduce rhyming and movement to infants.
Family Storytime
6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, September 6, 13, 20, 27
This program is for the whole family and lasts about 30 minutes.
KIDS
Preschool Storytime
10:30 a.m. Thursdays, September 1, 8, 15, 22
10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, September 7, 14, 21, 28
Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) attend this storytime independently while parents or caregivers wait nearby in the library building. This storytime includes activities that require more participation and a longer attention span. Each preschool storytime lasts about 30 minutes.
Kids Read Down Fines

4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 14
Do you have library fines? Take care of them by reading. Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading during the allotted time in the designated area of the library. For ages 18 and younger.
Pencil Pouches
2 p.m. Saturday, September 17
Listen to funny jokes, songs, and stories about school and then make your very own duct tape bag for your supplies.
TEENS
East County Anime Club
4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 6
Join a group of teens with an interest in Anime, Manga and other aspects of Japanese culture. For grades 6-12. Snacks provided by the Friends of the East County Regional Library. Registration is required.

Wii’s Just Dance 2!
4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 13
Visit the East County Regional Library and play Nintendo Wii’s Just Dance 2. Dance to your favorite songs, competing individually, or form a crew of friends and have a dance off. Over 40 hit songs to choose from! For grades 6-12. Snacks provided by the Friends of the East County Regional Library.
Registration is required.
