FGCU, Lee Memorial to hold palliative care conference

Florida Gulf Coast University and Lee Memorial Health System, in conjunction with The Southwest Florida Palliative Care Coalition, will host a palliative care conference for the public including health care providers, hospice workers, caregivers, volunteers working with an aging population, religious leaders, and interested community members 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14 at the Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport at the Town Center, 9931 Interstate Commerce Drive in Fort Myers.

“Body, Mind, Spirit An Interdisciplinary Approach: Palliative Care,” is a one-day health care conference featuring leading health professionals who will provide updates and insights on the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of palliative care. Course coordinators include Dr. Andrew Esch, conference director and medical director at Q-Life, Lee Memorial Systems and Christina J. Gallagher, program manager at FGCU Office of Continuing Education & Off-Campus Programs.
