LA Community Council to hold election for members

The Lehigh Acres Community Council will hold election for eight council members in November. Elected members will hold a three-year term. Applications can be picked up at the Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce at 25 Homestead Rd. N., Unit 41, Phone 239-369-3322. Candidates will require at least 20 eligible registered voters from Lehigh with names, addresses, and signature, said Mohamed Yasin a spokesman with the Council.

Members represent the public and various civic, social, business and government groups, he said.

The council actively works with the public and all civic groups in the community to partner with and address neighborhood and community concerns and issues to improve life for the residents of Lehigh Acres.

Council meetings are open to the public. The group meets on the third Monday of each month at the Bravo Station’s Sheriff’s Annex on Homestead Rd.

Lehigh Acres residents who are registered voters are eligible to vote. Ballots will be published in The Lehigh Acres Citizen and The News Star and at the Lehigh Acres Community Council website on the first week of November. Voting will be completed on November 30, 2011. Ballot boxes will be placed in the following locations:

Bank of America, 1360 Homestead Rd. N

Florida Community Bank, 1261 Homestead Rd.

Sun Trust Community Bank, 1110 Homestead Rd. N

Senior Citizens Center, 219 Plaza Drive

Lehigh Regional Medical Center, 1500 Lee Blvd.

FGUA, 1229 Homestead Rd, N.

Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce, 25 Homestead Rd. N., Unit 41.
