By Staff | Sep 21, 2011

Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Highway Interdiction Unit, the LCSO Economic Crimes Unit and agents with ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) on Sept. 19 executed a search warrant as a result of information obtained from a traffic stop on September 18. During that traffic stop detectives arrested two people following the discovery of 20 cloned credit cards along with a computer and magnetic card writer utilized to manufacture them.

Detectives and Agents from HSI conducted a search at 3807 22nd Street, Lehigh Acres, after it was determined to be a location where additional contraband was being stashed by the arrested suspects.

As a result of the search of the house and a 2005 BMW parked outside, a total of 19 additional cloned credit cards were discovered, investigators said.

A zip drive containing the compromised skimmed credit card accounts of an additional 28 numbers was also found. Detectives and agents also located two firearms, multiple rounds of ammunition, a bullet proof vest and a stolen 2008 Polaris 4-wheeler.

Additionally, detectives and agents seized an Imperial Boat Trailer, a 31-foot Viper Go Fast Boat, a 2005 BMW 525I, a 2006 Yamaha Banshee 350 four-wheeler and 82 boxes of flooring for forfeiture proceedings.

HSI Agents will be pursuing additional federal charges for the firearms, while LCSO Economic Crimes detectives are working to identity additional victims of identity theft and credit card cloning, authorities said. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
