3 players assigned to Everblades
Just a few days into training camp, the Florida Everblades added three players to the preseason roster Monday from their NHL and AHL affiliate teams.
Two players were assigned by the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning and the third from the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals.
Forward Alex Hutchings and goaltender Pat Nagle were reassigned by the Lightning and forward Philip-Michael Devos by the Admirals.
According to a team announcement, the 5-foot-10, 178-pound Hutchings, 20, contributed 26 points (13g, 13a) in 51 games with the Everblades last season. He was a fourth-round selection of the Lightning in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
The 6-2, 162-pound Nagle, 24, joins the Everblades after a four-year career at Ferris State University where he earned 45 career wins (18-14-5 last season). He maintained a .923 save percentage in each of the past two seasons.
The 5-11, 184-pound Devos, 21, scored 114 points (47g, 67a) in a season split between two teams in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Blades host the Chicago Express for a pair of preseason games Friday (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday (7:05 p.m.) at Germain Arena.
