The next meeting of the Lehigh Acres Edible Gardening Exchange will focus on “Frost-proof fruit for Lehigh Acres.” The Caloosa Rare Fruit Exchange will provide a speaker at this meeting. This free meeting will be held at Veterans Park at 55 Homestead Road on Thursday, October 20. Set-up begins at 5 p.m. with the meeting starting promptly at 5:30 p.m. Mingle, chat, and snack with other gardeners from 7-8:30 p.m. Clean-up begins at 8:30 p.m.
The October meeting at Veterans Park is free; however, the November meeting will require a once-in-a-lifetime membership fee of $10 per person or $25 per family. Contact Veterans Park at (239) 369-1521 for more information on this membership fee that lasts a lifetime.
There is no fee for the Lehigh Acres Edible Gardening Exchange, however they do ask that you share something at the meeting.
Gardeners are encouraged to help set up and clean up the meeting room, or bring a healthy snack or drink, excess seeds, cuttings, or anything else that they are willing to unconditionally give to another gardener.
If you wish your item to be raffled off at the end of the meeting, let them know when you sign in.
