Oct 13, 2011

Lillian Marie ‘Lily’ Carlisi

Lillian Marie ‘Lily’ Carlisi, 87, of Lehigh Acres, died suddenly on October 7, 2011 in an automobile accident. She was born on December 20, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest of four children of Slovenian immigrant parents, Frank and Mary (Zorman) Sibenik.

A resident of Lehigh Acres since 1965, she was very active in her church, St. Raphael’s, where she was known as the “bread lady.” She belonged to the Legion of Mary and the Altar and Rosary groups. A licensed foot reflexologist, she often gave foot massages without charge. She was very generous with her time, delivering surplus bread and clothing to those less fortunate. For years she traveled to Immokalee taking food, clothing and other items which she collected from thrift stores. Lily worked at the former Sunland Training Center in Buckingham.

She was an avid square dancer with the “Powder Puffs” dancing group at the Lehigh Senior Center for 26 years and enjoyed gardening and playing Mexican Train Dominoes twice a week.

She outlived her three husbands, Claude E. Parker, John A. Borko and Joe A. Carlisi and was predeceased by her son, Claude E. Parker Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Joseph) Marie Parker Dinan, her sons, Thomas (Christine) Parker and Lewis Parker, her grandchildren, Jami Hagy, Amanda Davis and Lewis Parker Jr., her sister, Diane Cernigoj, her nephews, Frank Sibenik and Henry Cernigoj.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 6 p.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2514 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Lillian Carlisi to your favorite charity or to St. Raphael’s Church. Friends may sign the guest book at www.horizonfunerals.com.
