Pumpkin Festival has full day of events Saturday

The annual Pumpkin Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 15 beginning at 10 a.m. with lots of activities for the entire family. It all happens at the First Community Congregational Church at 200 E. Leeland Heights Blvd. in Lehigh Acres, the site of the Pumpkin Patch.
Pastor Deb Frysinger announced the schedule for Saturday.
10 a.m., Pumpkin Rolling Contest for all ages
10 a.m., Bounce House all day
11 a.m., Baby Crawling Contest, (6 months to a year)
Noon, Costume Contest for pets and their owners
12:30 p.m., German Lunch, inside church
1 p.m., Costume Contest: best, funniest, prettiest, etc.
2 p.m., Carving a Pumpkin Contest for ages 3 to 93 years, bring your own carving tools.
2 to 4 p.m., Free Pony Rides
4:30 to 6 p.m., 50-cent hot dogs, 50-cent chips and 50 cents for sodas.
Something new this year: PD’S Pumpkin chili, 50 cents. Frysinger says, “try it, it’s delicious.”
7 p.m. New Day Music Concert, inside the church. Love offering will be taken for the group.
Visit the Pumpkin Pantry. It opens at noon with pumpkin food items for sale.
Medals, ribbons and gift certificates, including gasoline gift cards and Walmart gift cards given to all winners. $200 in gift items to be donated by CVS pharmacy.
