Students to meet astronaut; Science Fair set

Eighth grade students at Lehigh Acres Middle School will travel to the Kennedy Space Center on October 17. Students have had the opportunity to help pay the $50 cost per student by selling cookie dough. Students are credited with $5 for each tub sold. The top sellers will have lunch with an astronaut. The trip permission slip and $50 fee must be completed and turned into the school by October 7, said Richard Keast, An American history teacher at the school who is associated with the program.

The school will also hold its Annual Science Fair which begins on Oct. 31. Students choosing to participate are required to have their science projects into their science teacher by October 24. Final judging will take place on November 3 with a drama presentation and awards ceremony following the same evening, Keast said.

“Dinner and Broadway’ featured at school

The Lehigh Middle School Chorus will present “An Evening of Dinner and Broadway,” featuring scenes from “The Music Man,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Annie,” “Guys and Dollsm,” and “Oklahoma,” on Thursday, October 13 at the school.

Dinner will be available from 5:30 to 6:45 p.mm. with show time at 7 p.m.

Ticket price is $6. Children under 5 are free. Call the school at 369-6108 for more information.
