Emma Bergeron

Emma (Fojtik) Bergeron, 78, of Lehigh Acres died at her home on Oct. 17. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Fojtik of Turner, Mich. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick (Fred) Bergeron, and her brothers Alois Fojtik and Joseph Fojtik Jr., and her sister, Ann Green.

She is survived by her sisters Mary Jackson of Piqua, Ohio, and Rose McCumbers of Wayne, Mich., and nieces and nephews, and her dear friends and caregivers, Serena Porter and Tim Poelker, of Fort Myers.

She was born in Turner, Mich., and graduated from Arenac Eastern High School in Twining, Mich., 1951. She was employed in the retail industry and health care in Bay City, Mich., before moving to Florida with her husband Fred in the 1970s.

From her childhood days growing up on a farm, she expressed a lifelong love and devotion for animals, and spent her adult years surrounded by her many pets.

In accordance with her wishes, her remains will be cremated and her ashes interred alongside her husband in Cedar Valley Cemetery, in Turner Mich., in a Christian private service attended only by family.

The family wishes to express their thanks for the support provided by Hope Hospice, for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Humane Society.
