The next meeting of The Garden Club of Lehigh Acres will be held on Tuesday, November 8, at 7 p.m. at the Fountain Crest, 1230 Taylor Lane Ext. The guest speaker will be Russ Luther, faith relations manager at ECHO (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization).

In existence for many years, the garden club devotes its energies to promoting the appreciation of gardens and the exchange of ideas among gardeners, developing the love of growing plants, creating and nurturing enduring friendships, and organizing activities to stimulate interest in gardening, both at the individual and community levels. The club fully participates in and

The club hosts monthly guest speakers on various topics of garden-related issues, including flower growing and design, landscaping (choosing the right plants), environmental issues, growing tropicals, herbs and vegetables.

A plant auction is held at the end of each business meeting. The club also organizes a Christmas party and sponsors annual outings to botanical gardens and other points of interest.
