‘Divine Appointment’ concert set for Nov. 5

Pastor Windford Outlaw and Leslie Belcher
Homeless No More is the name of the benefit the New Beginnings Ministries and WAY-FM, a Christian radio station, have chosen for a special event to be held Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
Pastor Windford Outlaw and church member Leslie Belcher of Lehigh Acres, are working hard to get the word out that the concert will have special performances by Lions Squad, Christaholic and Lost cause, all Christian musical groups.
“We want to start an effort in the community to get people who need help into traditional housing and to get them involved in church,
said Pastor Outlaw.
“And with the help of Leslie Belcher, I think we are going to be able to do that. God is calling us to help desperate residents in our area to find those people that need help, feed their souls and bodies, Outlaw said.

Belcher’s shirt message is clear about providing housing to the needy.
Belcher, who said he had experienced problems such as being homeless, sees this cause as one God wants them to do, to help local people in bad times.
“We’ll go the woods to find the homeless, pick people up off the street if they have no home and even to the jails,” Belcher said.
While this is a new project for the New Beginnings Ministries Church at 505 Alabama Rd. in Lehigh, the moderate sized congregation of 85 members is committed to what is being planned,” Outlaw said.
A Homeless No More concert is planned for Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Alabama Rd. church. The church is asking for a $10 donation or $5 donation with canned goods.
This is the first concert to be held to raise money for the launch of Homeless No More, providing transitional housing and for the ongoing food pantry.

Rap and hip-hop artist Divine Appointment will headline the event which will also feature performances by Lions Squad, Christaholic, Lost Cause and R&B artist DNA.
Outlaw and Belcher say they plan to call on many of the churches in Lehigh to ask for help in their new project to find housing for those who have no homes.
“We are talking about housing that may provide a home to more than two or three people,” Outlaw said.
“God is calling on us to help those who are desperate. We want them know that there are people in the churches in Lehigh who care for the homeless,” Outlaw said.
Helping them to promote the concert is WAY-FM, a Southwest Christian radio station.
The church has plans to add to its food pantry where folks may come who need food. Presently, there is a food pantry at the church usually open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. But those in need can call 895-5561 if they are in desperate need. They are even looking to provide a kitchen at the church were those who are hungry can come and have a meal.
The two men said there are thousands of people living in Lee County who are desperate for help. Many of them are losing their homes or have already been forced into foreclosure.
“We want to also help build their self- esteem and help them become productive.
They said that Pastor Charles Hoskins of All Faith Church in Lehigh has agreed they can talk to his congregation in an effort to start bringing the churches together. And that’s just the beginning.
They plan to also contact Habitat for Humanity and see if they can help to rehabilitate houses that may help to house people who have lost their homes.
“But most of all, we are asking the people of Lehigh to pray for our success,” Outlaw said.
Both men believe that if their church and others can come together with God’s help eventually they can help people from all over the county.
Traditional housing, where those without homes and food for their bodies, and showing them how God can become an important part of their life, is the aim of Outlaw, Belcher and their church.
