Date of adoption of land code development changes

The adoption of public hearings for the Lehigh Acres Land Development Code (LDC) have been moved to Dec. 13 at 5:05 p.m. in the Board of County Commissioner Chambers and Jan. 10 at 9:30 a.m. in the Board of County Commissioners in Fort Myers, according to an announcement from Kathie Ebaugh, principal planner, Division of Planning, Lee County Department of Community Development.

Arts of the Inland to meet Nov. 15

The next Arts of the Inland general meeting will be November 15 at 6 p.m. at 13851 Island Road in Fort Myers Shores in the meeting house in the River Forest Club. There will be a barbeque, and anyone interested in joining may attend.

The speaker will be Suzie Dugan of Lady in Pink Photography, who will present her newly released book A Diary of Hope, Volume One: “Celebrating Life After Breast Cancer.” All profits will be donated to breast cancer research.

Alva Yard Sale is Nov. 5

The Alva Annual Community Yard Sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8 a.m. the location is at 23471 North River Rd. in Alva.

Community Plan Workshop set for Jan. 14

The next Lehigh Acres Community Plan Workshop is scheduled for Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the East County Regional Library, 881 Gunnery Road North, Lehigh Acres, according to Janet Miller, administrative assistant with DCD Administration. Public boat ramp reopens

The public boat ramp in Bokeelia on the north tip of Pine Island has reopened after less than a month. It had been closed for repairs so Lee County Parks & Recreation could add cement slabs to the end of the two-lane ramp to make it easier for boaters to launch during low tide.

Boaters now can use the ramp, located at 7290 Barrancas Ave. NW. The site, which is managed by Tropic Star of Pine Island Inc., gives boaters direct access from a public ramp to Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound via Jug Creek. Parking is $10 daily; ramp hours are 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. For more information, call (239) 283-0015.

Canada Club resumes meetings, beginning Nov. 6
