Fall Festival begins Nov. 10 at St. Raphael’s Church
St. Raphael’s Church will hold its annual Fall Festival on the church campus across from Walmart on Lee Blvd. beginning on Nov. 10 and continuing until Nov. 13. Opening night festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 10. The Fall Festival features all types of entertainment. There is a midway with special prices for the youngsters. Veterans will be honored during this weekend event. Admission is free but a small donation is requested for parking. There will be plenty of food, prizes and more.
American Legion plans ‘Early Bird Dinner’ on Nov. 11
American Legion Post 323 family will hold its annual Early Bird Dinner, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the post on Ashlar Ave. Everyone who has paid their 2012 dues will receive a free dinner. You will be able to pay your dues that evening and receive a free dinner also.
The dinner will be Chicken Alfredo, salad, garlic bread. As always dinner will be open to public. Only members and guests will be served alcohol. The cost $7. The evening will continue with karaoke by Ray “Bouncer” Leventhal. This is a special way the post can say thank you to Veterans and their families that belong to the post and have paid their dues, a spokeswoman said. Many activities are planned at the post. Cabana Palms Day spa to hold Open House
The Cabana Palms Dayspa at 400 Lee Blvd. in Lehigh Acres will hold an open house for the public from 10 am. to 3 p.m. on November 12.

Arts of the Inland to meet Nov. 15
The next Arts of the Inland general meeting will be November 15 at 6 p.m. at 13851 Island Road in Fort Myers Shores in the meeting house in the River Forest Club. There will be a barbeque, and anyone interested in joining may attend.
The speaker will be Suzie Dugan of Lady in Pink Photography, who will present her newly released book A Diary of Hope, Volume One: “Celebrating Life After Breast Cancer.” All profits will be donated to breast cancer research.
All Saints Byzantine Church to have bake sale Nov. 19
All Saints Byzantine Catholic church at 10291 Bayshore Rd. in North Fort Myers will have a bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Several ethnic baked goods will be available such as nut roll, poppy seed rolls, cookies and several breads. Also available will be six different varieties of Pirohi. To get to the church take Exit 143 east of I-75 and travel a quarter of a mile. It is just west of the civic center. Mariann Gaydos is the chairman.
Church bazaar will on Nov. 19
St. Anselms Episcopal Church at 6th St and Joel Blvd. in Lehigh Acres will have its annual bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a flea market and all proceeds from the bazaar go for outreach programs of the church. For more information, call Salma at 368-2862.
Yacht Club meeting Nov. 16
The monthly meeting of the Fort Myers Beach Yacht Club will be held Wednesday, November 16 at the American Legion Post 274 on San Carlos Island. Address is 899 Buttonwood Drive, Ft Myers Beach. The club has members from Lehigh Acres.
Dinner will be catered by Sandy Butler Restaurant and is available for $14 per person. Christmas party planned Dec. 3 by Knights Auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, St. Raphael’s council #6265 will host its annual Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 3. It will be at St. Raphael’s Church Hall on Lee Blvd. from 6 to 10 p.m. the cost is $20 per person. It is a BYOB affair. The public is welcome to attend. There will be raffles and dancing to Sweet Tunes. Call Mindy at 822-0218 for tickets. Date of adoption of land code development changes
The adoption of public hearings for the Lehigh Acres Land Development Code (LDC) have been moved to Dec. 13 at 5:05 p.m. in the Board of County Commissioner Chambers and Jan. 10 at 9:30 a.m. in the Board of County Commissioners in Fort Myers, according to an announcement from Kathie Ebaugh, principal planner, Division of Planning, Lee County Department of Community Development.
Community Plan Workshop set for Jan. 14
The next Lehigh Acres Community Plan Workshop is scheduled for Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the East County Regional Library, 881 Gunnery Road North, Lehigh Acres, according to Janet Miller, administrative assistant with DCD Administration.
