Gift is made to Compassionate Care Clinic in Lehigh
Gift for medical clinic: The Compassionate Care Clinic at 1154 Lee Blvd. in Lehigh Acres, also known as the Lee County Volunteers in Medicine, received a check for $250 from BB&T Bank last week. The clinic’s services are free to those without insurance and for those who don’t qualify financially. It has been open for six months. Shown here presenting the check is Dendle Miller of Lehigh, who is the financial center leader of the Page Field Commons Brank. At left is Andrea Kuzbuyt, the clinic’s executive director, and at right is a volunteer office manage at the clinic, Linda Trosper.
The clinic operates with volunteer medical professionals and through financial gifts. Miller said it was BB&T’s mission to put back into the community. She said the bank does several things, among them allowing its employees to perform community service and paying them their regular paychecks while doing so.
“There are so many people suffering in this economy and we want to give back to the community with our bank’s help,” Miller said. The clinic is open from 9 a.m. to noon for the public to stop by and be interviewed and supply income information to prove eligibility. Then an evening appointment is set up for the patient.
It is not a walk-in clinic. For more information on the Compassionate Care Clinic, call 368-8080.
