Youngsters can keep fossils they find

By Staff | Dec 2, 2011

The Fossil Club Of Lee County will hold its annual Fossil Show here at Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium on Saturday December 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Meet local fossil collectors and find out where and how to hunt for fossils and see all of the great exhibits, club promoters said.

You will be able to see fossil shark teeth, vertebrate fossils, rocks and minerals, American Indian

artifacts, bottles, gemstones, fossil shells and unique jewelry.

Children get to keep what they find. There will be raffles, games door prizes and a silent auction.

A discussion of fossils will be given by Charles O’Connor. The program begins at 10 a.m. and continues to 2 p.m. Admission is $3 and free for children under 12.
