LRMC provided food for the Thanksgiving holiday

By Staff | Dec 6, 2011

Lehigh Regional Medical Center continued the annual tradition of providing families who are experiencing difficult financial times with a 25-pound turkey, and a basket full of supplies, to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner during the recent holiday.

Working with Rae Nicely of Lehigh Community Services to select the 27 families who qualify for the gift, Lehigh Regional provided the turkeys, and the hospital associates from each department provided the baskets of food and supplies.

“It is so wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of the families when we hand them their turkeys and baskets”, said Rosie Correia, director of Dietary Services at Lehigh Regional.”

“We prepare different size baskets for the various families – the largest was for a family of eight. The families were so appreciative and grateful I hand them out personally, and really enjoyed it. I am so happy to be at Lehigh Regional and playing a part in all the good work we do for the community.”

Lehigh Regional Medical Center is located at 1500 Lee Blvd., in Lehigh Acres.
