Joe Pearson

If you’re one of those people who gets stressed out over the holidays, Joe Pearson has a few words for you. He’s a personal trainer in Lehigh who helps a lot of people to improve their health through exercise and dietary plans. His programs are known as Get Fit With Joe.

“Stressing over things that are not important over the holidays can cause stress. Folks should remember the meaning of Christmas and not get hyped up with ‘buy this and buy that’ – take your time and learn to relax and begin a regiment of some physical activity,” Pearson said.

In addition to running his own business as a personal trainer, Pearson is chairman of the board at the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce and participates in other activities in the community.

He has worked as the head personal trainer at the Maxed Out business on Lee Blvd. But now he works on his own.

He has several tips on the Internet for people who want to get fit and do away with the stress.

You can sign up for some of his tweets and blogs. One reads Morning Cup of Joe: Be the best you, you can be today. Do not the negativity of others affect you. And there’s more.

In another blog, Pearson may write about the truth about carbohydrates.

He’ll tell you that not all carbs are created equal.

“It’s true, A carbohydrate-rich diet can inflate appetite and girth. Low-carb diets do promote short term weight loss, but are accompanied by some severe dangers. So what should you do? The truth is you can have your carbs and eat them too – you just have to know how to choose them,” Pearson says.

His online site is filled with all types of useful information, not only for the holidays when people tend to go off their diets and quit their regiment of exercising.

To find him online, go to Iwanttobefitnow.com.

“I really enjoy helping people. I have several clients who I work with. And we hold a boot camp – I call it a fitness camp – from time to time at the Microtel Inn & Suites. It’s held in the large meeting room. Equipment is brought from the upper floors for the fitness program which sometimes number more than 40 people participating.

“It’s all by word of mouth,” Pearson said. “People want to feel good and they want to have the energy and that is what we work at,” he said.

Joe Pearson says he likes working with seniors and what he calls “large people.”

“Sometimes these are people who don’t want to go to a class with others, so I go to their homes and work with them,” Pearson said. Over time, these people can lose weight, he said.

Pearson, 43, is a tall man, standing six feet, four inches tall.

“But the funniest thing is that in high school I was only five feet, six inches tall and skinny,” he laughed.

“But as a senior and during the next few years, I grew taller and gained weight. I was just a lot later than others,” he laughed.

If you have any questions about exercise and eating a good diet, Pearson says he enjoys talking to folks. You can reach him at 239-896-0590.

“I will be happy to talk about these things and offer suggestions to anyone who thinks they need help but don’t know where to go and get it,” Pearson said.

He knows that after the holidays, a lot of people may be wondering what to do to get back in shape. He has the answers and taking his advice may improve your health.

“I enjoy working with people who have high blood pressure and who may have Diabetes. We can talk about the foods they eat and the importance of exercise,” he said.

But for the holidays, he warns that everyone should take it easy and remember the real meaning of the season.

One thing about Pearson is that he has no great desires for materialistic things. He doesn’t want all the money there is to be made.

“I’m just a plain guy who want to help others. That’s what I do,” he said.
