The newest restaurant in town is located on the north end of the Lehigh Acres Flea Market and owners Delroy and Rose Marie Ferron say they serve from a menu made up mainly of Caribbean foods. But they can prepare anything you want.

“We have a signature dish called jerk Turkey,” said Rose Marie Ferron, Delroy’s wife.

“For those people who don’t necessarily like turkey, this is really delicious. It is not dry like some turkey breasts are. It is moist and succulent and everyone who tries it brags about it,” she said.

The name of the restaurant is Del Rose Place and Catering Services and its address is 270 Beth Stacy Rd. To reach the restaurant, you can turn in by the Lehigh Professional Center or on Homestead Rd., turn in by the Sheriff’s Bravo Substation and drive back to the flea market, which faces the Microtel Inn & Suites.

It’s been open now for about a month and more and more people are discovering this small restaurant that has a table outside, some chairs inside and a long bar where you can order take-outs.

Special dishes are held by Delroy Ferron at the new Del Rose Place restaurant in the Lehigh Flea Market.

“We do a nice business at lunch. People have found us and they like the meals we serve,” she said.

In addition to all types of Caribbean turkey and chicken dishes, they offer jerk pork, chicken wings, “Eschovitch fish” and a roast fish dish.

For $5, you can buy the Chef’s Favorites which include jerk Chicken Wrap, Grilled Chicken sandwich, Jerk Chicken with Festival. For $7 you can get Jerk Pork with Festival dish and for $1,50 you can get a hot dog served with pickled relish, ketchup, onions and a drink. Not a bad dead.

Del Rose Place will have your order ready if you call them at 239-645-9226.

They are open for holiday shoppers from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday.

Pointing to specials is Rose Ferron, co-owner of Del Rose Place.

“We have a lot of people coming to the Lehigh Acres Flea market now with all the different shops. A lot of people are finding Christmas gifts and there are places top purchase produce and trees and shrubs.

“Just swing around to the side and you can find us,” Rose Marie Ferron said.

Her husband is a chef and went to Le Cordon Bleu Culinary College in Miami.

They offer catering for parties and weddings and other events.

The weather in Lehigh is much like the weather in Jamaica,” they said. “We love it here and the people are great,” said Chef Ferron, as he stood over his outside grille where much of the food is prepared.

For beverages, they have soda, ginger beer and fruit punch. And for what they call snacks, they offer oatmeal cookies, peanut butter cookies and chips.

“We think the flea market shoppers can find a place here to get some good food, and others in Lehigh are invited to give us a chance. I think they will like our food and our very inexpensive prices,” said Rose Marie Ferron.

The Lehigh Flea Market has grown from a small store to one now that contains a dozen or more sites, selling everything from appliances, trinkets, to produce and shrubs and Del Rose’s new restaurant.
