Union talks begin with Lehigh Fire Dept.

Negotiations between the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District and two local unions will began last week.

Collective bargaining sessions were held at Station 105 in the Administrative Meeting Room at 636 Thomas Sherwin Ave. in Lehigh and were open to the public.

According to Chief Don Adams, the first deliberations of negotiations with Local District 6 began Friday, December 16 at 1 p.m. Negotiations with District 19 began Saturday, Dec. 17 at 9 a.m.

Both Districts are part of the International Association of Firefighters Local 1826.

The notice was posted advising the public that the fire district will begin negotiating for the purpose of a successor agreement to the current collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Firefighters, Local 1826, District 6 and 19.

The public may attend these meetings but public comment is not allowed. Contact the fire district for future labor negotiation meetings.
