Man identified in shooting death at Edison Mall; 50 shots fired

Update: Fort Myers police on Saturday released the identity of the victim in the Friday night shooting at Edison Mall in Fort Myers.
Killed was 25-year-old Thomas Arthur Goodman, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds from a high-powered assault rifle. Goodman, of Fort Myers, was arrested in November on charges including aggravated assault and firing a weapon into a dwelling or vehicle. He was released on a $30,000 bond 26 days later.
Police say they believe the shooter shot around 50 to 60 rounds at him.

One person was shot and killed Friday night outside of Edison Mall in Fort Myers.

Police say one person is dead after taking multiple gun shot wounds. The shooting took place in the parking lot of the mall, which was full of holiday shoppers. Officials said a high-powered rifle was used in the the killing as 50 to 60 shell casings were found at the crime scene.
NBC-2 Reporter Josh Repp happened to be at Edison Mall at the time of the shooting and sent in a picture of paramedics trying to resuscitate one of the victims outside the Macy’s department store. That picture can be seen to the right.
“I was at entrance of the door. I heard popping and thought it was fireworks. But I said, ‘No, that is not fireworks,'” said witness Frank Eramo describing the scene.
Officers described the suspect vehicle as a gray four-door with a bunch of guys inside.
