Homicide investigation underway; suspect sought in Lehigh incident
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation after a man was found dead in a station wagon after they were called about a single vehicle traffic crash Monday at 6:19 p..m. at the intersection of Alabama Rd. South at 47th St. SW in Lehigh Acres.
According to a sheriff’s report released by Lt. Larry King, a public information officer with the Sheriff’s office, the white station wagon was found off the road.
He said the front end of the vehicle had hit a utility pole and inside the vehicle, the adult male driver was found fatally wounded.
According to the sheriff’s report, homicide detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating the death.
The victim has been released to the District 21 Medical Examiners Office where an autopsy will be performed. No other information was available early today.
AN UPATE:
The victim is identified as Michael Deshan Johnson, 39, of 914 Harlem Academy Ave., Clewiston, Florida. The cause of death is still pending the results of the autopsy.
Homicide detectives with the Sheriff’s Office have identified a suspect in connection with the death of Michael Johnson.
He is Noe DeJesus, 29, of 397 Pennfield Ave., Lehigh Acres and is currently being sought.
