Deputies: Man threatened to kill former co-workers on Facebook
A Fort Myers man is accused of threatening former co-workers on Facebook, saying he was going to kill them with a machete.
Deputies say both the victim and her cousin have a restraining order against Jacobe Reshard Swanson, 30, who is a former coworker. According to Lee arrest reports, Swanson had previously left threatening notes on her car and sent messages to her and her cousin on Facebook. Swanson was arrested for sending those messages using a fake account which had been traced back to his residence.
The victims told deputies they began to receive threatening emails again in October. The messages stated one of the women was going to die either at her home or work and that she had been followed. The messages became more severe over time. In November, she received one saying her head would be chopped off with a machete and everyone found in her home would be killed.
Deputies subpoenaed Facebook and Comcast to find out where the messages were coming from. They learned the messages were originating from a residence on the 2500 block of Hunter Terrace. Swanson currently resides there with his mother.
On Tuesday, Lee deputies arrested Swanson. He is facing charges of three counts of aggravated stalking, three counts of intimidation, and three counts of violation of injunction for protection.
