Pino to speak at Gardening Exchange Club meeting on Jan. 19

Lehigh Acres Edible Gardening Exchange’s January 19 speaker on seed saving will be Ben Pino from Heartland Gardens. Pino’s background is in Florida exclusive organic gardening with a focus on permaculture and bio-intensive gardening techniques.

Heartland Gardens is a local non-traditional community garden and garden center, and not-for-profit organization. Heartland is on a mission educate the public on the benefits of local, organic food and to give them the tools to obtain nutritional wellness and self-sustainability through the creation of food producing gardens.

The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 19 at the Veterans Park Recreational Center on Homestead Rd.

A once-in-a-lifetime membership fee to Veterans Park of $10 per person is required. There is no fee for the Lehigh Acres Edible Gardening Exchange; however, you are asked to share something at the meeting. If you wish an item to be raffled or donated to the pantry garden, please tell them when you sign in.
