Church to hold ethnic bake sale
All Saints Catholic Church will have a bake sale on Saturday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Several ethnic baked good swill be available such as nut roll, poppy seed rolls, cookies and several breads. Also available will be the traditional Easter Bread, both egg and white raisin.
The church is located on Bayshore Rd., Exit 143, east of I-75 and a quarter mile and west of the civic center, said Mariann Gaydos, chairman of the bake sale.
Lobster Bake set
Lehigh Community Services will hold an Old Fashioned New England Lobster Bake on Saturday, March 31 at the Microtel Inn & Suites in Lehigh Acres beginning with an open bar around the pool at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. There will be music, entertainment and a reserve raffle
This will be a fundraiser for Lehigh’s oldest and largest non-profit organization serving the under privileged population in this area. In addition to Maine lobster there will be optional choices of sirloin steak or chicken. The rest of the menu will be traditional Maine steamed clams and mussels, clam chowder, corn on the cob, cole slaw and strawberry short cake. The price is $55, a portion of which is tax deductible.
The principle sponsors include Lehigh Regional Medical Center, Lehigh Medical Group, Majestic Golf Club, Divots Lounge, Goodlad Insurance, 21st Century Oncology, Coldwell Banker Preferred Properties, Landex International and Accent Business Products. Canada Club to meet with ham dinner
The Canada Club of Lehigh Acres will meet on Sunday April 1 at the Faith Lutheran Church located at 705 Leland Heights Blvd. at 3:30 p.m. Ham will be served and pot luck to compliment the ham. The next meeting will be held in November. For more information, call 369-3846.
ABWA meets on
second Thursdays
The Lehigh Acres chapter of the American Business Women’s Association meets the second Thursday of the month at Bistro Rudy’s at 1251 Taylor Lane at 6 p.m. Bring your business cards for networking from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Dinner is $15 and includes a speaker presentation on many exciting topics affecting small businesses throughout the year. Meetings are open to the public and the club welcomes you to join them in supporting local community businesses and gain knowledge and support from other business owners. Land Use Plan
workshop rescheduled
The March 10 workshop for the Lehigh Acres Land Use Plan has been rescheduled for April 14 and will be held at Veterans Park Recreational Center starting at 9:30 a.m. Previously, it had been scheduled at the East Regional Library, said Janet Miller, an administrative assistant in the DCD Administration of county government.
Meet and greet
Rep. Tom Rooney
A Meet and Greet program with U.S. Congressman Tom Rooney from Florida’s 16th Congressional District will be held on Thursday, April 5 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bistro Rudy Restaurant at 1251 Taylor Lane Extended in Lehigh Acres.

Immokalee planned
The Seminole Casino Immokalee in conjunction with the Arts of the Inland will hold a Balloons Over Paradise festival at the Immokalee Regional Airport, 165 Airport Blvd., Immokalee, during the weekend of April 13 through 15.
Public invited to see ‘Cricketers’ play
Lehigh Cricketers (host) will play a two-day match against a team from Connecticut at Veterans Park (in front of the school) on March 31 and April 1. Game will be on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday at around 9 a.m. The public is invited to enjoy and learn about the sport. Some food will be available.

Brew scheduled
BBQ, Bands & Brew takes place from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. April 1 at the Lee County Alliance for the Arts, at McGregor Boulevard and Colonial Boulevard. The event features the best in BBQ cuisine, live music from local bands and fun for the whole family with a children’s area, petting zoo and cornhole games. Barbecue vendors and restaurants vie for the naming rights of Best BBQ in town judged by local VIPs.
