Postal Pointers: U.S. Postal Service issues four patriotic stamps
The U.S. Postal Service has continued its tradition of honoring the Stars and Stripes by issuing Four Flags Forever stamps.
This quartet of stamps features a U.S. flag against a white background. A single word appears on each of the four stamps in large letters: “Freedom,” “Liberty,” “Equality” and “Justice.” The black typeface recalls the look of Colonial-era printing.
The Four Flags stamps are available in booklets of 20 and coils of 100. They are being sold for 45 cents each, $9 per booklet and $45 per coil. They can be bought at Post Offices nationwide, online at usps.com and by phone at 800-782-6724.

Mr. Zip’s Tip: “Save Vanishing Species” is the Postal Service’s fourth semi-postal stamp. Semi-postal stamps are sold above the cost of first class postage to raise funds. Proceeds from the Save Vanishing Species stamp goes to the Multinational Species Conservation Fund. Previous semi-postal stamps have raised funds for:
– Breast Cancer Research
– Assistance to the families of emergency relief personnel killed or permanently disabled in connection with the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and
– Assistance to the programs and organizations fighting domestic violence.
