Teen Odyssey Summer Camp features outdoor activities, fun

Caloosahatchee Regional Park will host a Teen Odyssey Summer Camp program for ages 12-16 on June 11-15 and July 9-13 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Participants will enjoy hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, outdoor games, environmental activities and more at the 768-acre park. Campers and their families are invited back Sept. 28-30 for the Summer Camp Family Campout.

Bring closed-toed shoes, a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, healthy snacks and lunch, and a complete change of clothes and shoes every day. Campers will need to bring a mountain bike and helmet to participate in mountain biking. No electronics, please.

The program meets at the Caloosa lodge. Please use the campground parking lot for drop-off and pick-up.

Registration is required. Cost is $65 per student per session. Register online at: www.leeparks.org and receive a discounted rate.

Caloosahatchee Regional Park is at 18500 N. River Road in Alva. The park features 768 acres of pine flatwoods, scrub oak, cypress swamps and oak hammocks. Crossing through them, you’ll find more than 18 miles of hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails.

Primitive camp sites for families and groups are available, along with equestrian sites for people with horses. Kayaking and fishing are available along the banks of the Caloosahatchee River.
